180g Skimmer options

I would try and pickup something used before I bought that one if your on a budget I would only run that on a 65g

A skimmer is one of those things where I wouldn't try to save money. I personally went from a Eshopps to that exact skimmer after the Eshopps split down the seam. The Coralife never ran right for me. Wouldn't collect much of anything, and then go crazy and overflow.

My current skimmer in my 75 DT with a 20 gal sump is a BM Curve 7. Great skimmer. Silent, and produces the nastiest stuff i've seen. My upgrade to a 210 ( in progress) will consist of a already purchased Skimz SL183 Leopard with DC drive.

Unless you plan on heavily modifying that one, I'd not recommend it. I run one still, and don't run that pump nor the same plumbing on it.
Your better off using Deltec, SWC, Reef Octopus, Bubble Magus, Bubble King, take your pick there, just make sure its well over your total system volume. Thats one piece of equipment you don't want to skimp on.

My external h&s skimmer has been wonderful, often overlooked in reccomended skimmers but I am fairly sure it is one of the best skimmers you can buy.

Here's a great deal on a skimmer, at 264.71 it is the best price on the web.

Bubble-magus Hero 180 Protein Skimmer Aquarium Skimmers

Here is a photo of the one I got from them. It is very quiet, easy to set, wet or dry, and works like a beast. I'm very happy with it.

It has a Seaside Aquatics sticker on it, but it is the CS 180.
