Hello,
I’m finally getting around to filling my tank after a pair of clowns and hopefully a pair of bangi cardnels, I’m wanting to add a two barred rabbit fish. Tank is a 92 gallon 48” x 18” x 24”. Can I keep one??

You could get away with it for a year or two. I have one in my 200 gallon 72x30x21 and it is quite large.

You’re better off with a Bristletooth Tang, maybe a smaller Zebrasoma like a Biota Yellow or a Scopas (though I’ve seen Purples kept in a tank like that and they didn’t get too big).

Some would say a One-Spot Foxface is fine.

Those Milletseed Butterflies from Biota, when they’re available, make a nice “focal” fish for a 90G.

On top of your pair of Clowns and a pair of Bangaii Cardinals (how do you plan to pair them? They don’t change sex), you could consider:

(1) Smaller Wrasses (smaller Halichoeres, Leopard Wrasses, Fairy and Flasher Wrasses, Pink Streak and Possum Wrasses)

(2) Basslets (Royal Gramma- Captive Bred from Biota, Black Cap Basslet- Captive Bred from Biota, Yellow Assessor- Captive Bred from Biota)

(3) Shrimp and Goby Pair (not everyone’s a fan of the Shrimp though)

(4) Marine Betta (you could wait for a Captive Bred one again when someone does them, the wild ones might need to be taken off live food although some eat right off the bat)

(5) Blennies

(6) More peaceful Damselfish (Azures, Talbot’s, the Biota Pavo Damsels look nice, Starcki’s)

(7) Dwarf Angel (Coral Beauty- Captive Bred from Biota, Flame- Biota breeds them but haven’t had a batch in a while, African Flameback, Cherub, Multicolor and so on)

(8) Anthias (not a fan of most of the Pseudanthias, a Sunburst can be kept solitary, but needs a peaceful tankmates and you’ll have to get it to accept food)

Do you have a “theme” for the tank? Stocking level? Difficulty of fish you’re willing to handle?
