Hi i'm looking for some new lights for my tank and the kessil a500x have caught my eye

These would be running with the wide angle lense at about 9 inches above the water

Will 2 be enough for a 120cm tank mainly sps dominant

Cheers

Great timing I am also looking at lights and are thinking the A500x.
My tank is only a 900mm tank and I was thinking 2 x 500's.

They are meant to be able to do 36inch square.... so 2 for your 4ft (48inch) tank sound perfect.
2 x A500X's for my 900mm (36inch) maybe too much? But I can turn them down.

Main reason is to mount them high and get a nice clean look.
My tank will be mixed and I plan to use the shadow's, if any for LPS etc.

My other options and was my preferred option was a T5 hybrid with 2 x 360x's.
I was wanting the dimmable T5... which is more expensive, so by the time I add the T5 fixture, tubes and the 360's. The cost of the 2 x A500's seems ok.

I want to hang the 500s from the ceiling.... open top look.

But which lighting option is best...
T5 x 4 plus 2 x A360X's
or
A500x x 2

Interested to see others thoughts...

Unless the tank's are deep imo the 360x's would be better. Ive talked with the owner of a lfs running a few and he said the 360x work better for most average height tanks. He said the 500x would be great for very large, deeper tanks.

BRS recommends running it with the wide angle lense on a 2ft by 2ft cube they get about 200par on the sand bed at 100% intensity and 30% colour. That seems pretty good to me I'd need 3-4 a360x to get the same par on my 4 footer

They said with that setup it hits 69% of the tank being able to sustain sps, there videos are really informative so well worth a watch.
