Hey guys , I have started a new tank after a 4 year hiatus due to a complete tank loss of my reefer 250 due to a 1 in 100 years twister/micro burst in CT , I kept all my equipment but couldn’t bring my self to starting it again , a few years later I caught the bug again and tried a new challenge , I want to use all my methods and equipment but a smaller tank , it hasn’t been as easy as I thought it would be but here we are 6 months to the day and I will update this along the was as well ,

Ink bird heater controller with titanium heater
Radio xr15 gen4 pro with 2 ai blades
Doser
2 mp10s short pulse 60 percent each
Alk 9 po4 .20 no3 10-15 calcium and mag never check , par 450
Acropower and bionic 2 part

Thanks guys here’s how it looks for 7 out of the 12 hours everyday I prefer this color I know the white and blues have there places , but I like the daytime period the most , I got the last few frags and will post an another photo when I glue them down

Can’t wait to see the last couple of frags! What’s are you running your whites and blues at to achieve that sort of lighting?

The radion is 5 hours all blue , from 7-to 12 then 12 7 it’s ab+ plus( white cool white red and green 25 percent ) the light the whole day is 100 percent intensity , the ai blades are the grow and from 7 to 12 they are the 2 blue channels at 115 or 120 percent I forgot the max , then from 12 to 7 it’s 2 blue channels 115 and whites at 80 , that gets me 680-700 water line 450 top rock 250 300 rest of tank I can screen shot the apps with the graphs if anyone would like them

Yes the destruction from the storm was something you would see in the mid west but to see it in the tri state area was insane , I did not get power back to my house for almost 9 days

I do have the reefer 250 cleaned and stored , but it’s a gen 1 and part of me says to just buy a new tank because I’m afraid of the seems , anyone’s thoughts on that? I can see it now , the frags grow out in this tank I get the reefer 250 up and running and then disaster strikes twice , part of me also says do a new shape tank just to look at something different , but I don’t want waste money , I’m torn lol

Thank you ! I think what helped my tank mature much faster this time was I bought 5lbs of live Marco rock from unique corals , wrapped it up in a towel and smashed them with a hammer and loaded up the back first and second compartment of the aio , after I did that and a few weeks went by the tank really turned the page and just clicked , my 250 I started with dead Marco and didn’t do that and it took about 14 months for me to feel like okay it’s clicking now

I wouldn't use it unless you have a basement level with an unfinished floor with a drain. I just don't have the stomach to risk it.

Hey guys I have a strange issue per say going on with my tank I never had a aio so I’m not sure how to combat this my po4 is out of control last night and this morning it’s .30 now .39 werid how it went up over night if I didn’t feed anything my alk is still being used and to be honest the corals are growing so much I can see it daily , some ideas I have raise up the white channel on the leds to maybe spark po4 usage or use this stuff which I never used before I 5 gallon water change did not lower it any suggestions ?

I’ve never used that either. Do you run any gfo? Maybe start small if they’re that high and the corals are doing ok you wouldn’t want to lower it too fast. What kind of test are you using? If you have reef buddies in your area maybe try a different test or a checker.

In a bag is fine. If you decide to take a measure to reduce it just be gentle. In this case getting down to . 25 is better than going to .2 or under. One thing I’ve learned in this hobby is that stability and small changes trumps ideal parameters. The last thing you’d want would is to bottom out the phosphate. If you go the bacterial route use 1/2 or 1/4th the dose starting out and see where it goes
