Aqua Man hi!!! Thank you!! Found the clam at my LFS, I will never buy a clam online, just cause I can’t see it so I don’t know exactly what I’m getting. This one was $90 at about 1” length.
I got all my acans from the LFS near me, I feed them almost every night with thawed meaty food (I use frozen fish food and feed by putting small bits directly into the feeder tentacles after my lights go out. I feed all my scolies at the same time.)

I see you don't have leathers in your envy tank! Any reason?

Nope I have a lot of leathers! I’ve got a cabbage leather in the center by the GSP, a toadstool frag by the chalice island, and just bought a new green nepthea! I’m looking to make my new 45 into a leather, anemone, clam, and softie dominant tank. Build thread coming soon :)

It still amazes me how much you have crammed into that tank and they all seem to get along!
What's the blue/green acro at the top?
Just a regular birdsnest! It’s colored up nicely under the lights and with the reefroids feedings. I’ve seen the most reward for the reefroids with the acros. I have to cut the birdsnest weekly now to prevent a war between it and the garf bonsai!

Oh, I think it's the garf bonsai that I was referring to! Looks pretty! Frag me a piece!

It’s been forever since I did an update! But today is a big day so I’m gonna go ahead and do one. Just to start, here are some progress pics of the tanks that highlight new additions.

New scoly, beautiful pattern and gorgeous turquoise streaks that don’t come out too well in pics.

Went to Florida a month ago and found this guy drying up on the sand. He’s doing great! I spot feed him 3x a week with veggie pellets and mysis, very active and crawls all over the tank.

C86F85A1-EFA1-4ABF-ADD4-530A19B8F629.jpeg

A dragon soul torch!!! My first really high end torch so I’m just crossing my fingers, praying he does okay, and taking better care of him than I take care of myself.

Some update pics on the rock flower anemones, these are the two that were the easiest to get pics of. Unfortunately, as we all know, anemones have a mind of their own and the rest of them chose less desirable locations for me to see them but I know they’re all there!

5F14782E-8CB2-4585-9E74-A89C69921808.jpeg

Update just kinda on the acan outcrop. Shows my new radioactive trumpet and the growth on my acans pretty well.

DEC8B71B-509C-4FDB-8471-C99442F6CD99.jpeg

Got some yellow polyps, they’re doing amazing but fail to reproduce the yellow color I saw in the original tank. Any suggestions on how to help them?

Just a progress pic on the indo hammers from last update. Doing great!
Tha starfish is so pretty, at least in the picture. How did you transported back home to Houston?

Styrofoam cooler with a bubbler! Survived more than a week in the cooler (fed it with Seagrass that I found it in and daily water changes to introduce nutrients). Kept the cooler in the hotel room so it stayed a good temp and kept it in the backseat floor for the trip home. Drip acclimated for 1 hour and in hé went! Still does great, feed him 2x a week with an algae pellet or frozen food.

Very nice! That beautiful nem brought me here :p . Following the journey!
Thank you! I do love that nem and it actually inspired me to create a new tank! The new one is a 45 lagoon and will focus on nems but Im also gonna have some clams and softies like nepthea, zoas, and such. I was really scared to get the nem at first because as a beginner, I was concerned about it burning my corals. But, as I've matured into the hobby, I've found that the nems are actually very beautiful and I have had no issues with burning. The nem in this tank is actually touching a JF Contract Killer Favia 24/7 and the nem and the favia are still growing happily. Ive got a black widow and a different RBTA in a different tank and theyre both wanderers, the tank is full of coral and seems no worse for wear despite the nems touching everything all the time because of the wandering. The new 45 currently has a CSB and a POTO Sunset Strip BTA and they are both happy, haven't wandered yet but Im waiting for them to.

I got a 1” RBTA a month or so ago and was deathly afraid it would go on a massacre! It fid no such thing and just moved from the bottom of my rock scape to the top for higher lighting and flow! Looks pretty happy now and I feed it a few times a week!

That looks great! I just got a POTO Sunset Strip BTA from their recent live sale and the oral disk on this guy is about the size of a quarter! I love him so much, been feeding him a thick reefroids paste for a little while now, just until I feel he’s grown large enough to comfortably eat solid foods like blended clams and shrimp. Here’s a terrible pic :)

Nice tank, good to see another younger reefer
It’s nice to be a younger reefer! Being a teenager and a girl, a lot of people address my dad when I go to fish stores and he’s like oh no I’m here because she dragged me here. He’s been a reefer for 40 years and originally introduced Acropora to the Houston area, talked with Julian Spring and Charles Delbeck as well as the Waikiki Aquarium and research institute in Hawaii so he definitely knows his way around a reef. But now I’ve taken over the house tanks since he’s getting old and has less energy than he did. It’s nice having him to go to for advice and stuff though because he’s seen it all. Really nice to have him to ask about how things are priced because he knows if something’s a rip off (like a Duncan for $30) or a good price (like a gold Octospawn for $100). I like being able to carry on his legacy as the reef guy.

I would like to see his build thread ;D That’s very cool!

Ha! He doesn’t have a build thread, I’ve made all the SW tanks in the house. I’ve got a build thread for the 45 but haven’t updated in a while because the CSB has been hiding but I’ll make sure to do that soon!
