2 weeks ago i order 20 gallon innovative marine, and i din't open it till last night. I took it to the backyard and rinse it with water just give it a quick clean. I took it upstairs and i noticed that it was the gap. Is it safe to use it? Its going upstairs and we have carpet. Thats the last thing i want a leak.

Looks like the installed auto-leveling mat on the bottom of the IM tank peeled off or torned away. I would ask IM for advice but since it's not the glass that's chipped, I would go ahead with install if there isn't obvious damage to that area.

+1 On the above advise. I always ask the manufacturer when there are possible issues with anything I buy. I also do it over email instead of over the phone so I can save the email as evidence in case anything does happen. It probably is not a big deal with a 20 gallon tank, but it is always better safe than sorry. Good luck!
