im setting up a 20 gallon long reef here in the next 3 weeks. gonna start buying things for it tomorrow.
tank includes:
20gL
20 or so pounds of dry rock/ shelf rock
sb reef light 16" ramping elite model
ac70 hob filter. dont have room for a sump. going to do weekly water changes
need opinions on what type of powerheads to use. most likely going to use hydor nano powerheads.
aslo need some recomendations on what type of skimmer i should use if one at all.

any recomendations will help. thanks

I got a 30 gallon and only use one pump in this tank.I do use a hang on back skimmer for like a 75 gallon tank.it's pretty easy to move water around in this tank for me with one power head. It depends kind of on what u want to stock to decide how many power heads and how much flow.

im just looking to do mainly softies. hammers and frogsapwn. acans etc.

If mainly softies In the tank 1 powerhead would be enough,my LPS don't like to be blasted with power heads

Frogspawn get huge,acans look pretty sweet I got maybe 6 acans and I leave em off to the side in my big tank and they do awsome grow good and that's real low flow area

yea i had a 65 gallon reef for 2 years. just got rid of it because i recently had to move. but now im ready for another reef just a tad smaller lol i had a 27 head frogspawn and a bunch of acans in it. i really wanna do a zoa garden too.
