This week I received my first ever 20lb shipment of KP Aquatics starter rock. It was shipped overnight to my door UPS and I am amazed at the amount of life on this rock. It far exceeded my expectations!

I wanted to post a few photos for anyone wondering what you might get since I spent hours searching forum posts for KP starter rock.

In addition to the various algae and sponges, I found a few brittle stars of which only one has survived. The others were crushed in the bottom of the bag. A pistol shrimp who is missing his pistol claw. A pencil urchin, bristleworms, a few unidentified snails and an unidentified crab which scurried into a hole as soon as I tried to get it off. It’s in the pics attached.

This is for a new 75g build of which I’ll post a detailed build thread soon. Therefore I just put it into the empty display to cycle, observe and prune off anything that is decaying or dead.

I love the two separate orders (2021 & 2022) I had placed for door to door delivery in water. I have been trying to get another order in but I keep missing out by the time I see the email stating that they have rocks in stock. Hopefully it is soon.

Your order is really nice!

Thinking about ordering 20 lbs from them once it becomes available again. Thanks for posting pictures. Are you still happy with it? Only thing I don’t really want is heaps of bristle worms. Oh well…pros and cons
