I have come across several 6 bulb T5 lights, these are 48 inches in length. These lights are at a steal and fully functional for $10 apiece.

That being said, these are industrial lighting fixtures that are 220V fixtures.

Knowing nothing about rewiring equipment, but would anyone out there be able to comment on the ability to rewire a 220V fixture to something usable for a reef setting.

Need to know what kind of ballast they have, some are multi-voltage.

It would be easier to convert a 120v outlet to 220v.

Yes. So long as you know what you are doing. Caveat, you would now need 220 volt T5 reef bulbs. I'm sure that they can be sourced. Second caveat, all the outlets on that converted circuit would now be 220 volts and would need to have the appropriate outlet.

If you are able to determine that the fixture ballasts are, in fact, multi-volt and can accept 120volt, all you would need is a new power plug, That is relatively easy. Again, if you know what you are doing.

Well, there you go. Find ballast rating and change the plug to 120v if equipped with proper ballast.

Maybe you should get more info from the OP before you give bad electrical advice.
