While a tank this size really has very few "inexpensive" options as far as equipment, there are people who buy tanks like this and save quite a bit on the cost of the actual tank(which is a big chunk). I'm sure someone could build a 2000+ gallon system very cheap with toughs instead of acrylic, possibly pool pumps etc it would just be really hard to keep up with it.I wonder what is an estimated cost of setup such thing. And I wonder where is a limit in gallons where it goes really expensive. For instance ~100g can be expensive but it doesn't have. I think even doubling the size wont be on that level but for instance 1000g is a completely different level - for instance return pump, there is no cheap options, skimmer selection is limited, etc.
They're fairly automated, Sean's waterchange system is pretty awesome! That is a true work of art I would have nightmares about his water changes
How does he do itThey're fairly automated, Sean's waterchange system is pretty awesome!
I mean if he does a 5% water change that 100 gallons that a whole lot more than my 32 galHow does he do it
Eventually I'll post pictures of the filtration room but he has two multiple hundred gallon sized holding vats to produce saltwater(200 Gallons each). His RODI can fill both of them up in less than a day and all he has to do is add the corresponding salt to the vat and it'll be ready to go. There is a drain in the room so he can remove as much water as he wants as well. There is close to 0 physical labor associated with doing a water change on this tank. If he wants to do a deeper cleaning its a bit of a different story I'm sureI mean if he does a 5% water change that 100 gallons that a whole lot more than my 32 gal
