Hello everyone! I've been a member here on the reef for years now. I use to have a build thread years ago but neglected it. I have recently transferred everything I own from a 46g bowfront to a 29g. So I'm going to get this build thread started since I've got a fresh tank and fresh start and see how it goes.

It is an all in one tank (AIO) btw.

Made some really good progress on the Dino's. About 95% gone as of this evening when I got home from work. Been keeping the whites off and blues down significantly. Feeding an absurd amount and dosing phytoplankton. Turned the skimmer off a few days ago. Everything I could think of to get those nutes up and it seems to be working. Just dosed a bottle of nitrifying bacteria to boost my population. Pretty sure I destroyed the bacteria and algae pop when I scrubbed all the live rock w/ peroxide before transferring from the old tank, so lesson learned there.
Got a few frags a couple days ago, seem to be doing well overall so far. Also got a super beautiful little Cherub Angel to finish off my fish stocking, drive up the nutes and add to the CUC. Although I will still look into a partner for my big male Flame Hawk. I'll get some pics after work before the lights go off. The anemone is also looking much much better, taking to the new tank well so far. Anyway, that's it for now!

Note: Also just ordered a ATO. The salinity swings are insane on a 29g compared to what I was use to with the 55g. I could just top the 55g manually and keep everything stable. I'm going to HAVE to use an ATO for the 29g... that little bit of evap makes much more of a difference on my salinity on this tank. Super excited for it!

Alright so update. I still dont have pics.. I know I know. Dino outbreak has succesfully been resolved, thank the reef lords. Skimmer is back up and running as I'm now getting a good load of nitrates. FINALLY. Everything is looking much healthier with nitrates back in the works. Tested my phosphates and we are sitting at a solid .02, which is great. ATO is on the way to keep the salinity stable.. Im keeping it a bit low at 1.025 so if I get to much evap while at work it only brings it to around 1.026, which is where my salt keeps it.

New frags are doing great. Got a few different easy to keep SPS. The birds nest has bleached a bit but I'm hopeful it will recover. All the others are doing great. Also got a few zoa frags.. which are looking nice as well. The anemone is looking better every day.. starting to really take hold to its new environment. Slowly ramping my lights up to accommodate the new additions. I'll have it back to full intensity soon enough.

The Cherub Angel I added is really starting to settle in. Took it about a week of mild/strong bullying from the Clarkii and Flame Hawk but they seem to have accepted her into the tank. She cruises around picking at the rockwork happily all day.

Think I have gotten my flow correct as well. I've got it set on the pulse setting at .5 second intervals at 100% strength. So 100% strength pulses every .5 seconds. Creates a really good looking flow for the corals and strong shimmer. I'll keep an eye on it and tweak it if I need to.

Think that's about it! I've got a good jar of pods coming next week and some good phyto so definitely excited about that. Gotta get some pics going on here and I think we will be set.

Changed up my flow again. Think I'm going to leave it this time. I've got it on the random flow setting at 100% intensity max. So basically does random spurts at different strengths with a max of 100%. I think this is the setting that I will keep with for a while, as it looks to replicate the most natural flow I've tried to date. Seems to be perfect. Everything is really starting to come alive now that the dino bloom is gone and I'm getting my lights back to full intensity. Looking foward to stocking and growing out!

Sorry for the off color pics. My phone does not like the spectrum of my reef >.>

Got everything placed onto the rockwork today and zoas moved to their futre garden areas.

As I ramp my lights up the Haddoni is getting happier and happier of course.. I think I might leave it alone and see how everything does. Ive got it set at the light spectrum and intensity recommendations from BRS for my light so we'll see if its strong enough for the Haddoni.

Everything seems to be liking the light the higher I put it though, just don't want to burn anything up, but no signs of that yet. Might go full blown intensity at: 80% blue/white 100% blue actinic 100% UV/purple/blue 60% cyano/red/warm white. Going to give it a week or so tho and see.. I need to get it to a setting and LEAVE IT! Harder said than done tho I suppose.

Of course algae is going to become more and more of an issue with the more intense whites that the Haddoni loves so I might have to keep an eye on that.. my cleanup crew is strong tho so it shouldn't be too much of an issue to keep it in check.

Added a jar of 6 species pods the other day and dosed my first live Phyto. The tank seems to love it! Will have to keep an eye out and see how much the pods/phyto help with the overall health of the reef.

Been a while since I've written here so I'll give it a go.

Where to start. The tank is doing great! I've been dosing live Phyto consistently and have gotten very positive results, as expected. Dosing every other night seems to work good, although I'm thinking of dosing smaller amounts every night instead of every other. All tank inhabitants are doing great and really showing growth.

Got some new additions last week. Couple Acans, Zoas and SPS. The live sale from Unique corals got me. =)
Got 2 decent red polyp acro frags that have started coloring up a bit and showing a positive acclimation to the tank. Really focusing in on keeping Alk, Cal and Salinity as stable as possible and it seems to be paying off.

As always its nighttime so the tank is dark for the night. I'll try to get updated pics as soon as possible to continue the visual aspect of this journal

Some recent pics. You can really see the growth on the digi and birds nest. The chalice is also a good bit larger.

Also, one of my Acan was eating part of a dead hermit crab this morning, bad picture but you can see in one of the pics above. I thought that was pretty wild.
