29g shenanigans

Finished the new sump for my 29g. Ive been pretty resourceful with materials. My friend threw out an old 20 high and i used that for the baffles. Before i was using a diy sump i made from a 20 long. I need to finish my stand next. Here are some pics. Im letting the sump run with water for a week. Used the ge silicon I

I was dipping my zoas in h202 because some of them had algae and weren't opening. But my hand hit my birdsnest frag and broke a nub from the top. So frustrating. I was getting such nice growth from it in the last few weeks. Very unfortunate. I was finally seeing daily dkh consumption and dosing 1ml of all for reef to maintain a level of 8.0 dkh

New hammer, purchased for 40. Has two heads. My purple bonsai seems to be doing well too. Getting around .1-.2 dkh daily dosing about a 1 ml to maintain lvls

My neighbor helped me finish the stand, gave me this granite top. Still need to finish the stand with spackle and kiltz primer before we silicone the granite down

Applied one plus three to the nail gun holes, didnt have any spackle laying around. Will be priming tomorrow

Primed the doors and stand, will be painting final coat today. Applied caulking along trim. For my first cabinet i am more than happy. Just need to sand

Finally moved my reef to the new stand. Here is the finished stand:

I choose to match my eshopps skimmer so i went with purple plumbing that went on sale on brs.

Moving the tank was one of the most nerve racking things i have done.
I started by draining and removing the corals into a tote.
Moved the tank into place and cut the new plumbing. I waited maybe 6 hours before attaching the new plumbing.

Was concerned that i would encounter leaks after attaching the new plumbing. I had two leaks one from the two bulkheads and the other from the main bulkhead. The first leak was easy to fix, the main bulkhead was not sealing. Turns out eshopps directions for installing the bulkhead were incorrect. It goes box-glass-gasket-gasket-box-nut for the eclipse series overflow.

It was getting late so i just added a paper towel to the slow leak and would tackle the problem fresh in the morning.

“Pimped” out my plumbing and my sump
I had built the previous sump from a old 20g long i cut up

Used velcro tape to fix the rats nest of wires.
Looks like a lot is going on but the wires arent tangles and i can easily remove anything i need.

Corals all doing well, monti wasn't looking too good a week ago. Color has returned and seems to be growing
