not totally new here to R2R ,But it’s been a looong time since I had an aquarium and couldn’t find User info.. any way, onto the good stuff. This aquarium was already set up and established for my mother as a Christmas gift some years ago.
Power failure crashed it and so I start again.
As of now I have around 5 pounds of live rock and around 2 pounds of black
Agra Alive . Been up and running now about 7 or 8 months and I started adding corals about 4 months ago. For now I have a viparspectra 165 watt LED fixture above it turned down to about 15% on blue/actinic and whites at about 11% . Using slightly modded hygger 3 in 1 pump to supply flow to display and pump water to HOB refugium/filter. I added an acrylic panel hook for rim attachment
The refugium is a finnex HOB 3 chamber model. I couldn’t build it from anything cheaper than I got this thing and it came with a great little light.
I use a mophorn 100w peltier chiller to keep water at 78* f (by passed the thermostat on the mophorn because I got tires of converting from Celsius)
using ink bird thermostat to control chiller and the 50 watt heater.

UPDATE ... have recently upgraded to an aqueon 7.5 gallon cube. Running VIPARSPECTRA 165 watt LED mounted 19” above water at 18% channel 1 ,
7% channel 2. Custom filtration system
(see attached) with 1 gallon HOB fuge.
