Like the title says it, cycled the tank in 2 weeks.

Added acros on week 3. Used 6mo - 1 year old live rock from a sump of a very old grow out system.

The nitrogen cycle went from ammonia straight to nitrate. Never had any nitrite. My ammonia is reading .25 since, but nothing looks stressed and nothing has died. Including 2 harlequin shrimp who are voracious eaters. There’s even a crocea clam in this tank.

So far no pests. The acros I bought from a neighbor who browned them out using h2o2 straight into the display. They’re in a 20 gal now, so yes it is going to be a massive challenge, but that’s ok. Will check back with progress.

Good luck. Dosing and testing. If not you should!

that’s gutsy but old LR should help. I’m basically about to transfer all my rock and sand to a bigger tank sitting in my garage. Hoping the process is very quick.
Welcome to me! Strait forwarded!
Live rock helps a lot but even with that a good 6 months bacteria fauna is always a good thing. Much easier with bare bottom.
