Is 3 yellow tangs in 510l ~ 130 gallon a dumb idea or will it work if they are introduced at det same time?

That's too small for 3 yellow tangs. They will set up a hierarchy and after a couple monthe the cumulative abuse along with not enough space to escape will lead to the demise of the lowest one in the hierarchy, likely the other one will follow after that and you will just be left with the dominant one.

Multiple yellow tangs can be kept in larger tanks.
