Hey guys, brand new to the reefing world, ive been enthralled with SW tanks ever since i got to play with my buddies like 15 years ago and finally got to the point in my life where i could start one up.
Bought the tank off a friend, and then that initial buy in price for everything else, well OWWWIEE lol.
I didnt have room for a sump inder the stand so my equipment includes a fluval 407 cannister filter, moving above 400gph, to coralline power heads that move 426gph each, an enhiem heater hooked up to a controller, keeping my temp constant at 77.
I got 23lbs of live rock to start the tank off, i got it up and running for about 2 weeks before i added any live stock.

Next i didnt want to spend 500+ on lighting, so i found this guy on amazon and figured i five it a try. Its a toplanet 165w wifi contrallable light. It has a bunch of different functions, some preprogrammed for seasonal, but i like it that i can fully adjust the white, blue, and this cool feature moonlight lights, at every hour of the day, so far it seems to be working perfectly as advertised and was growing brown algea the the first day i hooked it up lol.

And yesterday i picked up my livestock to get the tank life started. 2 hermits, 6 bumble be snails, 1 fire shrimp, 1 coral beauty and 1 purple dotty. This morning all critters are running around and appear to be quite happy
