I had a 120 4x2x2 for a dozen years out of 1/2 and its still good. I upgraded to 3/4 just to reduce bowing on the 8 ft sides but I didn't want mixed sides so I made them all 3/4. No other reason they do a good job and would not build one too thin. I would recommend you go either 30 or 36 wide as there is almost no price difference and you get way more tank and much better rockwork options.
What are your thoughts between 36” and 48” deep?

nice to have the extra depth but also worries about the bulkiness

Would be best to ask in the general tank forums instead of on someone's build thread. Very few are going to see your questions on my thread. But unless you can get to the other side of the 48 wide...you will have a pain to deal with

So I ordered a ton of caribsea life rock for my tank pics above. I made a post and sent them an email about how much arrived broken. They emailed me back asking for pictures of the broken stuff and copies of the receipts...they sent me replacements for every single thing that had a major brake. Now that is standing behind your product! They just got a customer for life.

Nice build. Loving the rock work, I wish I had that artistic ability.

So LA had a sale on April 1st where I was able to snag salt at 23% off...welcome home 3 buckets and 3 large boxes. It may sound like a lot but with with a 360G tank and a 100 gallon sump just over half full it won't last as long as you think.

It depends on 2 things each kit is unique and how you put them together. For example in my current build of the tree kits they range from 14 inches to 19 inches high. But each comes with 1 spacer rock also. I am considering on the 19 inch either pointing the last one down vs the current up or taking out the spacer rock and cutting like 4 inches off the rod to bring it down to 15 inches. If I took them all apart and put them back together different they would all end up different heights. BRS has a nice video where one of them was playing with a tree kit. Here I found their video this should help.

I was planning on renting one of these...but I was able to find one about 17% off so I decided I would just buy it. Might be able to rent it to a couple of my friends that were also thinking of renting one. That way if I ever change my lights I won't have to rerent one.
