This is going to be epic, following!
Thanks -- it will be a slow churn though. I need to move the 175g & frag tank to the garage first to stage the new tank. I can't really do hard plumbing and get things "flowing" unless it's in its final spot. It can be stressful to move the 3 Haddonis and then move back later.

I'm planning to shut down the frag tank (attached pic) this week but the nervous part will be moving my 4 Colorado Sunbursts & the OG Bounce mother colony to other tanks.

Little update - spent the weekend gathering equipment for the build. Sunday was a full day of cleaning now the old equipment has been soaking in vinegar for a few days. Sump is almost brand new and the SRO 5000D calcium reactor is thoroughly cleaned as well. I’ll hook up to the Kamoer peristaltic pump to test later this week.

Next update: need to purchase a ginormous skimmer! Currently I have a Bubble Magus Nac9 that should work but a monster tank requires a monster skimmer? ;)

Actually — I really need to move the 175g out of the way to start the plumbing. Can’t really do much in the garage atm.
that sump is awesome!

That is going to be a lot of work but I can’t wait to see the outcome. I’m wishing you luck with all the transfers!

btw: I bought this one and managed to get it to work. It was leaking initially but took a few prayers (and forceful turns) to tighten & stopped the leak since I didn't want to crack the PVC sides!

Thanks again for your help!
Nice. I was like wteff about the 3" bulkhead. I never really seen one in aquaria, a few 2 1/2" with old wet dry stuff and the usual 2" stuff.

Finally getting the ball rolling on my end with everything... Got the cube replacement coming, so I can finally get the frags from you after my trip.

Cool - once you’re ready, let me know. I can start fragging more and let things encrust. The main tank is full - first world’s problem! Ha

Plan: (sorry for the night shot) — going to move the content of the frag tank (right) to the RS250 (left) and shut down the frag tank this weekend. Next weekend, move the 175g to the garage and put the 360g in that same spot.

No wonder you need a 360g, about 75% of the the same volume in that photo, lol. Going sps on that 175? Or one of the smaller ones.
The 360g will be mixed but with Haddonis (3 for now). Would like to end up with 7-8 Haddonis when I’m done! Ha

The SPS cube tank (150g) is not in that picture and will remain unchanged. It’s currently in our kitchen — see attached.

Pipes and fittings arrived but I can’t really plumb yet until the tank is staged in its final spot. Gotta love the 1.5” red pipes! These schedule 80 fittings and valves are ridiculously expensive. I haven’t done this in a long time so this will be interesting & fun!

Also bought some furniture mover pads so hoping not having to dismantle everything and slide the whole tank by 15ft! Ugh — I dread this part the most! lol

Getting the 360g buffed this Saturday by pros (I don’t trust myself) - super excited to get this brand new again! I’ve also asked them to drill some holes for me to line up the holes so the idea is to go straight down from the external overflow to the sump, as pictured but the sump will be next to the stand. This will be cool - 2 x 1.5” drains and an emergency.

Will post before and after shots.

My OCD self will kill me if (when) I scratch up the acrylic so REALLY considering to NOT have sand in the tank. However, I love Haddoni carpets and they “need” sand! I’ve heard people have had success with it so here I am..losing sleep deciding.

What do you guys recommend: sand or no sand? All my other tanks are BB but I purposely added sand for the Haddoni.

Red filter floss basket anyone? Well, my gifted son 3D printed some media/filter floss baskets for the sump. The corner baskets be 4” high since they won’t fit due to the lip of the sump and the center will be 7”, all 7” diameter.

The MP40 nem guards will be white to blend in with the white side wall. Will see…

Just to update that there is no new update! lol

I've been extremely busy with work & life so there is absolutely ZERO time to get this plumbed. This project will have to wait until May. I walk by the tank everyday and getting annoyed that it's still sitting bone dry! :(
