I don't know if these are the same thing or what they are. Just showed up in the last few days. I am noticing these little tubes everywhere.

Yup, they will rise and fall in numbers based on the amount of nutrients available to sustain them.

These are hydroids and the things to do to get rid of them is to starve them, simply by directing water flow towards them and not at them so food does not reach them. They favor brine shrimp.
Other option is to place a dab of gel super glue from dollar store on each of their heads thereby starving them.

Thanks guys. Being new to this, it stresses me out when I see new creatures I didn’t put in there. LOL. Snails that appeared out of nowhere are my little buddies, but I spend enough time chasing after nuisance type crap.
