After dipping my toe back in a little over a year ago, I’ve officially outgrown the 11 gallon cube. I’ve really missed not having a sump too. With space around the house limited, I decided that a 40 breeder with a sump would be the way to go and keep the wife happy!
So far I’ve just been gathering equipment to start the build. I plan on documenting everything here. From drilling my first tank for the overflow and return to adding fish and corals from the 11 cube. I hope to have everything done sometime this summer…
Since I’m going to be taking the 11 cube out of commission after this (I only can deal with one tank), I’ll be moving my Hydros system over to this new build.

I have black 3/4” silicone tubing to hopefully keep the algae down in the return. I’m going clear silicone for the emergency, I figured it should mostly stay dry, and it will be nice to see if there is any water in the line.
