Just getting back in the hobby after 6 years out. Here are some pics of my work in progress of my new 40 gallon breeder reef tank. Any suggestions are welcomed, since I have a lot of catching up to do.

That's really nice. I love thinking outside the box.
 
Oh my goodness, that looks fantastic! Love the design, especially love that you chose the 40 for your first time back. ☺ There's just something about a 40 breeder that I love!! It's my favorite tank.
 
Very good suggestion. I have messed up a floor in the past and learned the hard way lol. I did silicone and plasti dipped the sump area.

Added a chiller due to the Florida heat, since little people have trouble remembering to close the door to the pool.
