Today my refugium arrived with a 7 litre capacityI have to non brand marine pure blocks at the bottom I have three questions

is their any good cheap refugium light that will do like a plant grow light?

Could I put a seneye monitor in it eventually or is it better in main display

also will this and the protein skimmer help nitrates stay low with water changes

many thanks happy feeding!

Any strong grow light will work. Just avoid those cheap dim led strips that clamp on. Refugium effectiveness in smaller settings is about growth rate. The speed at which you grow the algae will determine how fast it'll tank out nitrate and phosphate. What light you should get depends on how you want to mount the light but do not use a cruddy small white light. This should help with at least some nitrate and phosphate.

As for the seneye I do not know.
