This has been in the works for 2 full years. Heres where i am so far...

450 acrylic made by Tsunami, Tampa FL. Its 8 feet long, 3 feet front to back, 30 inches tall, dual corner overflows, black background. Thirty inch tall aluminum stand, 48 inch sump, all made by Tsunami. They were awesome to deal with.

I had to get two of them....

My 4 year old, just for size perspective

And here is where it sits today, up and running, full of water, a ton of hand made marco rock aquascape. No fish yet. My plan is to add 200lbs of Tampa Bay Saltwater ocean sand and give that a week or so, then begin adding fish.

Stocking list will be extensive and have multiple Angels, Tangs, Wrasses, Triggers, etc... I dont have a set in stone stocklist, but there are a few non negotiables. The must haves are French Angel, Harliquin Tusk, Crosshatch Trigger, a group of Yellow Tangs. The rest will be decided as I go...

Small, but expensive update...

200 pounds of sand from Tampa Bay Saltwater. Snails and critters crwaling around, even a few small conch.

Ive used this sand recently in a 90gal and it was almost insta-cycled.

Ive got 3 fish ive ordered from Dr. Reef's Quarantined fish that should arrive in 2 to 3 weeks. That will give this 450 plenty of time for the good stuff to colonize the surfaces and be ready for the fish.

crazy tank size, I'm extremely excited to see this fully stocked!

That's awesome with one tank but you got TWO going at the same time? Wow! You can't go wrong with a French Angel - I have one and contemplating on getting another one, hoping they'll pair up. No Queen/Blueface Angel on your list? They are also my favorite...

Keep the updates coming!

Yes, 2

One is freshwater and fully stocked. Big driftwood, plants and approx 70 fish. Its a fun room to be in, the two 450's are 6 feet apart and theres also a 90gal saltwater aquarium that im using as quarantine in this same room. Plus a couch....gotta sit somewhere while contemplate life.

Love it! I haven't done a freshwater tank in ~30 years but man, this picture makes me want to jump back into freshwater again. Super cool!

There are a few Pyrocephalus (formally known as Red Head Tapajos) there are some Geo. Sveni (which get quite large and have long streamers) and there are a few Threadfin Heckili and a few albino Threadfin Heckili. Also in there are Roseline sharks (aka Denison barbs) 30 Blueberry Tetras and 5 Rainbow Cichlids that a local guy bred. Its active and cohesive and somewhat colorful.

Ive been keeping fish for 39 years, it was always saltwater only till the last 5 or so years ive added freshwater, and i love it. Its 80% of the enjoyment of saltwater, but 20% of the effort.

I've been in freshwater for about 10 years now and love it too, by all means I love my reef tank but freshwater is a lot less stressful for me to handle, red head tapajos were always my favorites back when I kept geos in my old 125g I also kept a lot of really fat dojo loaches lol, my only regret in freshwater is keeping "high quality" fancy goldfish, they need a ton of filtration and dropsy is an average Monday for them not to mention they're terrible swimming issues
