55 gallon a work in progress

I first started out with a 29 gallon fowlr with a hob filter back in 2008/2009. I than upgraded to a 55 gallon in 2010. and have been working with it ever sense around 2012 I wanted to try coral and so I got a new light system and sump. I have been running a 4 bulb t5 system (replaced the light fixture once because it caught on fire). I than had to change my rock work because it fell and I tried the minimalistic look because it looked really nice in my opinion. I have had many trouble along the way such as cyno, extremely high nitrate, and coral death. everything is fine now except the coral death. that is what I'm currently working on now. I have plans to turn my 55 into a sps dominant tank. I do have good luck with hammer and frogspawn. last I checked my ca=420,alk=11, gravity=1.025, temp=78-79. I'm also adding an apex jr. on it during Christmas.

Well it has bee awhile since I have updated this post, but a lot has changed with this tank in almost 3 years. I have built a stand for it, I have gotten new frags. some have grown and some have died, unfortunately. I am still having trouble keeping my Alk stable, which I am working on now. I have added my apex on and it has been working great. I also put a doser on it and it is doing good (besides the Alk, which is why it isn't on right now). Later this week I will be hard plumbing my return pump and putting a manifold on for future equipment. I will also post some pictures over the weekend to show what it looks like now and after the plumbing.

here is some updated pictures of my sump area with some progress pictures of me redo my return line. I got a Vectra S1 and installed it on my 55 gallon and right now I have it running at 10% I'm going to play with it a little tomorrow.
