I have a 55 gallon tank with a 10 gallon refugium, and I was wondering if a marine betta, 2 clowns, a firefish and a royal gramma. I’m wondering if this is a good stocking list and would work good and not be too big of a bio load.

The marine betta would be my concern. They can get bigger and that fire fish and gramma may become dinner.

Just a thought, what about a leopard wrasse in place of the marine Betta?

Should be fine. I had a marine betta for 2 years, he never ate any tank mates and are super shy. You really wont see them except for once in a while at night when they come out. Usually you will just see their back fin sticking out of the rocks. Very cryptic fish but man is it a sight to see when they decide to venture out in the daytime once in a blue moon 😊

Mine was in with tiny fish like these and he never ate anyone. Fish is so shy and they grow incredibly slow. You barely see them except foe once in a blue moon

They’re very beautiful and I really want one. Wouldn’t you see them when you feed them like a few times a week though?

You should consider a flame angel instead of the betta! I've heard from other reefers that they're a great centerpiece.

Yah I ask chat got about a lot of these things and it also said that there was a slight chance of it eating my firefish but this is reassuring.

I saw a bunch of suggestions for those in a few videos I’ve watched but I want to get In A ton of different colors and that would kinda match with the clownfish. Ty for the suggestion though.

I’ve heard that but I’m planning on adding the betta later so that should reduce the wrist somewhat probably. Idk that’s what chat gpt told me.

You got a pic of your tank? I might want to upgrade to a 55 later down the line too!

No, they will only eat when you squirt food at their cave. They usually wait until you leave then dart out for some food real fast. I only saw mine a handful of times when I had him. Took me about 3 weeks to realize he passed away because it really is very rare for you to see them out. You usually just see their fins or their mouth when it opens to pull food in.

Yeah, mine grew up in an aquarium to he was used to being fed and never ate any small fish. I had damsels, gobies, blennies, firefish ect with him and he was never interested
