Hello everyone, i have a 55gal cube tank with live rock and live sand, i currently have a couple ocellaris, cleaner shrimp and some cuc, i would like to add some more stock, i'd love some colorful and interesting fish.
I wanted a flame hawk but because of the shrimp is probably best to avoid, also cannot put any tangs in this tank size..
I was thinking an orchid dottyback and maybe in the future a dragonet, any other suggestions?

dottyback, a blenny/goby and a dragonett long term seems like a nice, albeit a little light stocking plan. you could get away with one of the less aggressive damsels (starcki, springer, or azure) as well if you want a little extra color!

I would love a damsel but i've never had one and i read some horror stories! i'd also like a boxfish and the damsel worries me!

The three I mentioned have a much better track record than the horror stories you have probably heard. They are the more peaceful members of their genus, and are generally considered community tank friendly. As far as boxfish go, what species were you considering? I don't know of any that would be appropriate for your tank size.

Excellent!! I’m planning on a starcki for my biocube that’s cycling now. And the yellow box fish actually gets up to 18”, if only they stayed as small and cute as the juveniles!!!
