@tbrown always told me to go bigger, so..... I just ordered the Prostar V2 150g. Will be here on Thursday and my friends at the lfs will come over and help get it set up.
The only thing I might have to discuss further with them, is they want to use the same sand that is currently in my 60g. They said they will clean it up and will still have to add more new sand, but I have always heard that is never a good idea..?

I feel like a newbie all over again. I don't know a thing about a sump or how it works, but going to learn! It will be nice to have all the equipment underneath instead of on top sticking out/up from the AIO.

I just have to know if 2 32 AI Hydra's and the 2 16's I have will be enough lighting.

I'm going to really try and document everything for this tank, progress, losses, etc.

Old sand holds more life and has already been phosphate saturated. It can be good or bad.

Sumps are fairly easy. Is it an internal overflow or an external hang-on overflow?

Congrats on the new build!! If they're gonna clean the sand, you should be good. I'd even say keep a bit of uncleaned sand to use for seeding. Sumps are awesome!!! share pics when you can

Thank you. The tank arrived at the shop. With the snow and freezing temps, everything was closed Monday & Tuesday, so of course everything is behind. Hopefully it will get to the house next week. Will definitely have pics and progress updates.

Finally! Tank will be at the house tomorrow morning and then the plumbing will be done.

The plan is to drain my tank as much as we can to move it out of the way for the new tank. I know it's going to take a bit but once again I'm a nervous wreck. I'm so afraid of loosing something.

Anyway, more to come tomorrow

FINALLY! :) Got everything transferred over today. My guy was so careful and inspected every coral, and even said everything is very happy in my tank.

We added four extra bags of sand, and at least 24 more pounds of live rock with more to be added. We also had to add about 80 gallons of new saltwater.

I am using 2x32AI's and 1x16AI. I have a Sicce in the sump. Funny because I still have no idea how any of this works. LOL. My guy is coming back out in the next few days after things settle to install the skimmer and finish custom-making the lid. He will also rearrange my corals and help put them where they should be. Will also be nice to get all the 'gear' under the stand.
The sump is a powerful little thing and I love the way it is built. Tough to last. No pun intended ;)

My new (replacement) apex was shipped today too.

It was an all day process and a tiring one too. Now to see how everyone faired in the morning. I love this/a big tank.

It's been one month of he!! The Tomini got stress ich and in turn, so did every other fish in the tank. I have fish and a lot of corals on rocks in this tank so we decided to try in tank treatments. I will NEVER go this route again. Kick Ich, Rally, PolyLab Medic, all it does is slowly kill coral. After a few coral losses and ich hanging on, even though the fish were swimming and eating well, I decided to stop dosing everything and move to Copper Quarantine. (which I should have done in the first place, lesson learned).

Brand new tank and not one day of joy (yet). I have all the fish in Q which are still doing well, thankfully. The only thing that brought any relief was my friend who owns the lfs has come over many times to help and has read every single emotional message I sent.

My corals, torches, frogspawn, acros, are all ticked off and others are barely hanging on. I did about a 50% water change. The corals look awful and I lost my sand starfish tonight as well. I do not like this tank now.

Gosh, it's been forever since an update. Well thankfully everyone is back home and doing great. I had the filter socks removed and replaced them with Red Sea, reefmat 500. I hate socks. I struggled a bit with nutrients but we are back on track. I already think the tank is too small. LOL.

Thinking of getting this same tank based on value. Would you talk me out of it or good choice?

Small update. My 150 is doing great. I have now started on the 90 predator tank. I got the tank, stand, skimmer, misc parts on marketplace. Had to replace the tank. It was homemade, had a few chips and the seal was not trustworthy. Just needed to order a couple parts and the install will be completed on Monday.

I am replacing the socks with a reef roller. I have a valentini puffer and hawkfish already on hold and have ordered a snowflake eel. These are all at my friends shop in quarantine and are doing great. Will also get a dwarf lionfish later on down the road.

My mom started with a predator tank specifically for a dwarf lionfish. They were beautiful! Hopefully yours does amazing!

Well, finally got sand, rock and water in the tank today! We used all dry rock but I am happy with the way it looks, especially for the eel.
I have the reef mat running, skimmer is in the sump, just not on for now. New lights will be here on Thursday. I just got a basic light strip since I won't have any coral in this tank.
Going to wait a couple weeks and the first to go in will be my Hawkfish and Valentini Puffer. They are still in a hold tank doing really well. Then the eel and lionfish. I am really excited to finally start this.
