Hello!

3 weeks ago I bought my first saltwater aquarium, an already up and running Reefer 170.
I have looked through lots of "Critter ID" threads here to increases my knowledge prior to buying a saltwater tank, but it seems like that was not enough because I have found 7 Mystery Objects (mystery to me at least) in my new aquarium I would like to know more about.

First of all I have 2 normal looking mussels in the tank, maybe 4 cm in length. But then I have this huge mussel, or at least I think its a mussel, that is 15 cm in length. I haven't seen anything similar in pictures or video of other peoples tanks. According to the previous owner, it has grown 10 cm in half a year. Anyone got more information on this?

Mystery Object 1: Huge mussel, 15 cm

Mystery Object 2: White fingers. Soft, got some holes and seems to be hollow, 5 cm from base to top

Mystery Object 3: Beige ball, maybe some kind of sponge, found 7 around the tank, 0,5 - 1 cm, might have a 7 cm blob of them

Mystery Object 4: Looks like the texture of black velvet, 5 cm front to back

Mystery Object 5: White translucent sponge, seems like it also curls over the rocks in 2 mm thick strings, up to 10 cm long I have seen

Mystery Object 6: Looks like a snail, shell is more bending over then spiraling, 2 cm

Mystery Object 7: Small 8 mm snail, have 5+ of them, seem to be nocturnal because they all come out on the glass when light is off

I know all the pictures are not the best but if you have any more information on some of these Mystery Objects please let me know.
Thanks

I cannot give you genus specifics but I think you are on the right track. Mussel, sponges, snail .... baby snails.
It's a cool tank you have there! Welcome to the group!! Your profile picture is too cute for words.

Thank you very much for your answer!

The pinnidae mussel is definitely the best resemblance so far, some small differences in shape, so I will try to look in to it further.
For the snails you were spot on for both of them.

Thanks again!
