Old build thread

The 160g reef just before the new tank arrived. Crammed pack full of corals. Just in time as my skimmer broker and I was already overstocked on everything.
The new tank measures 7feet long by 2.5feet high by 2.5feet depth, bringing the display to 330gal plus a 60gal sump. Total of a 390Gal system. 2x bigger than my last.

The current layout has 4 Individual islands. One for SPS/LPS, One for Euphyillia, One for mushroom/softies, and Last one for Zoa's.

JBJ 25Gal SPS Grow Out tank.
Bought as a dedicated qt tank that turned into a SPS as I needed a very clean tank for them to grow. The tank is very simple as I just use filter floss that I change out once a week. It is bare bottom for easy removal of detritus.

Yellow Tang (rehoming)

The whole tank transfer took about 3 days. I had 8 black 30g totes each with its own wave maker, heater, and a few had a airpump. unfortunately during the transfer i lost 2 fishes. hawk fish and a yellow eye kole due to not having a air pump during the first night.

The new tank took a good 3 hours to install. Even with 4 guys we almost lost it a few times.

Once the tank was in, over the next 2 days I put everything back in. Sand was rinsed with tank water until clear. Who knew there could be so much detritus even with gobies and snails helping turn the sand.

Spent yesterday going to home depot and getting plywood cut. Bought some wood edge banding to cover up the ugly plywood. Attached using Velcro for easy removal and Maintence.

Crazy Polyp Extension today and puffy corals. Haven't seen my 24k torches extend this long since I got them. Even found a clove polyp behind my Acan today that I never knew was there.
