Not my first tank but it's been a few years. Currently up since august with two hob filters because I was being cheap. Now that I'm over being cheap (kinda) I just built my sump. Here is the tank currently. Sump will be going in next week with a lifereef hob overflow because unfortunately this tank is tempered.

Here is the sump. I dont plan on running a skimmer, just a filter sock, refugium and some bio media. It's a 20 gallon long with glass baffles.

Got my sump up and running today. Using a Lifereef overflow thanks to everyone on here recommending it. Homemade filter sock using 4" PVC. Also have a couple mangroves in the sump.

Small update on the tank. Added an actual filter sock instead of the diy, installed a kessil a80 on the refugium and also added some dragons breath algae. Parameters have been better than expected without running a skimmer. My nitrates and phosphates are actually a little lower than I would like them to be so I upped my feeding a little.

Quick little update with some better pictures. I'm slowly getting better with the pictures. Tank is running great, even without a skimmer. Still don't really have a plan to add one. I keep up with changing the socks and my weekly water changes. I'm thinking of switching to a filter cup with filter floss instead of the socks though.

Figured I would post another update. Still no skimmer, just an oversized fuge and some filter floss. Parameters have been stable but I've also stayed on top of it. Water change once a week. Dosing 2 part every other day. Also just noticed two spots of coraline growing without me introducing it. Possibly it was on a snail. All in all tank is doing awesome, everything's growing and happy.
