75g Peninsula All DIY

[O’KC’s Reef]

I’m looking to build a 75gal peninsula. I’m DIY’ing the stand, overflow, plumbing, sump and floating canopy. I need advice on the best course of action or any mistakes or pitfalls I might be in for. I’ve made 40breeder stands multiple times, but I’ve never built the plumbing into the stand, usually just around it. Any advice or gear suggestions?

Also, my wife trusts my DIY skills enough to do this project. I don’t think she’s ready to trust my skills in aquarium making, when there’s thousands of dollars in damage on the line if it goes wrong.
