I'm thinking about setting up a pico cube out of a DIY 12x12x12 cube me and a buddy made a while back out of some scrap glass I had laying around. Due to expecting my first child I just tore down my freshly built 75g as well as my old 20g long tanks to free up some space and money. I have a koralia nano circulation pump, heater, rocks, and sand already from past builds so I figured I would just throw it together. I'm looking to do this super cheap and fairly bare bones but I was wondering if anyone had advice on mechanical filtration or any other little add-ons I could use that are fairly cheap. I've got my heart set on a Kessil a80 for lighting. I'm a HUGE Kessil fan mostly for the color and shimmer and it's the perfect light for my build! I appreciate your input! Happy reefing!

I use a small HOB JBJ filter with some Chemi Pure Blue and small water changes every friday on my 7g...seems to be working pretty well...tank was previously a 3g but wanted some more space and switched to a 7g six months ago

Does anyone have experience with those par38 led bulbs? Either from eBay or the more pricy ones?

End up returning the par38 I bought at Amazon due to its size-heavy too. I think I got a lamp fixture from Target and did not like the overall look.
I would stick with Kessil a80.
