Here’s without a doubt the best thing I have ever done to a tank. The stand sits on 1/4” aluminum plate with 14 stationary casters that are rated at 200lbs each. I mounted a homemade bracket for jackscrew and thrust bearings to the studs behind baseboard. Threaded bracket mounted to bottom of plate for the jackscrew. 18” extension with 3/4 socket on cordless drill and I can move the tank 18” from the wall smooth as silk without a ripple. I did all this because the repurposed stand really wasn’t reef tank friendly. Maintenance is a breeze now.
