A few tentacles bleached on a torch coral

Hi my aussie holy grail torch has a few bleached tentacles. Too much light? Too little light? Or something else?

It may not be obvious in the photo but it’s certainly bleached to eye. There are 3 tentacles bleached at 2 different spots though they arent the ones under the strongest light and more towards the side and bottom. This piece is in the tank for 2 months and i think is becoming more green then yellow. Tentacles are also getting more stringy over time, but the body is fattening up. Not sure of these are also indicator of the same problem.

I have swapped from ai prime to radion xr15 a month ago and has been increasing the light intensity with acclimation mode over the course of the month so it was getting ~150 par and now 200 par at the right side closer to the light. Although my instinct is its relating the light adjustment but just the spots getting bleached doesn’t align

The two things that offer them color and energy are light and food. If feeding powder food such as reef roids, switch to chopped krill or mysis shrimp which offers more food source. While they dont need bright light, your light seems a little low in intensity. Just assure they are not shaded as they use light for their inner algae known as zooxanthellae which promotes color. Stringy tentacles are often from insufficient light and/or water flow

Thanks the photo was taken before light went so it may seem dimmed, but Im actually having trouble finding the right food for it. I have tried reef roid mixed with amino, frozen mysis, live baby brime shrimp, lps pellets, fish food of different sizes and it eats none of them

Same thing happened to my banana grail which looks very similar to yours and it was after a small par increase from around 150 to 200. I put it in reduced par around 100 and it recovered the color. It was same situation, the tentacles on the side closer to the LED became pale and then translucent. I did get full recovery in lower par.

As for food, torches are picky and I have 20+ and some just never ate for me. Until. I bought this food. All my torches, every one, gobbles it up, I was shocked. Feed a bit with flow off for 20-30 min so it doesn’t get blown away.

Mine actually bleaches from a side not facing the light directly so I was less certain if it’s too much light, but during the acclimation clownfish was disturbing it so I have tried several netting to separate them and might have blocked the light a bit and gave it a shock, but thanks for the food suggestion
