Not sure if this has been posted, but if you have the ability to run one, eg not in a apartment building. any new reefer should plan on having a generator added to their list of standard equipment. it’s not exciting, you may never use it year 1 or year 2, but when u need it you will be glad you have it. Check out the board when ever there is a hurricane or event where people loss power, it’s alway, I should have gotten one, or HELP how do I keep my coral/fish alive. I was out of power for 9 days when the last hurricane hit the Tristate area a few years ago, so plan on your own event and how would you handle a prolonged outage.

We spend hundreds if not thousands on live stock, as responsible reef keepers we should do everything we can to keep them alive. Not to mention how bad it is to clean a dead reef tank.
