I’ve been in search of a larger tank(200-300 gallons), shopping new and used acrylic and glass tanks and came across a large tank that supposedly is 10 years old that has never been used, owner states he had big plans for it years ago but did not end up setting tank up, silicone looks factory and new, I’m not seeing any scratches or evidence that the tank has ever been used, what are your thoughts on buying a old never used old tank?

Is it rimless? Eurobraced? What's the brand? Has it been stored in climate controlled room indoors?

It’s a standard predrilled marineland tank, owner claims it’s always been inside in climate controlled room

Then yeah should be a great find. I would still water test it properly when you get home.

Ask to see it filled before purchasing

Don’t purchase an Aquarium stored in a garage, with Vehicles going in and out. The Conditions have a very negative effect on the Silicone. Knew someone that had a large aquarium fail, in their Den. Pretty much destroyed the first floor flooring.
