A4R scoop identification

Some how misplaced my scoop that was included with AFR but happened to find this one amongst my fish room supplies but I thought the spoon was black or blue and every picture I find online shows blue can anyone confirm?????

Mine looks the same, but I weigh mine. 160 grams to 900 mils water.

It ensures I get the full 10 liters of solution from the slightly expensive bottle.

IMO it’s totally worth it so far I can’t really argue the price point for what this one solution does and simplified for my needs

I weigh mine also but use 142 grams to 800ml rodi since that fits in my dosing container. I'm usually not too technical but I figure weighing it would help keep it more consistant. It's easy to pack the scoop differently each time. It probably doesn't really matter much but it makes me feel better lol.

I confirmed my theory on the scoop last night measuring TM Reef actif. I was using a grain scale meant to measure gun powder for reloading so it's pretty sensitive but works great for small amounts. I was unable to get two scoops that were identical.
Again it's probably overkill but using a scale along with my 1 liter breaker and magnetic stirrer is kind of fun after using wrenches and hammers for 35 years lol.

Accuracy is best. And I am possitive no 2 scoops will weigh the exact same. May come close. I have several gram scales I can use. I may as well put them to use. I cook a lot, I weigh my flour and other cooking elements. So... Why not add afr to that mix?

I have been looking into starting reef actif I employed TM Bacto balance and it bottomed out my p04 N03 got my p04 back up to favorable numbers but nitrate is still super low almost undetectable how is your experience with reef actif

It's interesting how the same product can work so differently in different tanks. Ive been dosing bacto balance for months in my large tank that runs NO3 20-30ppm and PO4 0.5+ and have seen no noticable reduction in either.

Yea from what I understand in simple terms actif dosed good guy bacteria that binds phosphate and makes it easier for corals to consume increasing coral color and PE but has less of a risk then carbon dosing

Not in my system it completely took out nutrients but to be fare I had .03 phos and 5ppm nitrates to start

That is correct to my knowledge. I'm far from an expert but these are my thoughts based on the information I've gathered.
It seems import and export of nutrients play a big part in how the TM carbon dosing products work or how well they work. @Kingsley_Reef N and P were much lower than mine when I started bacto balance so I suspect their nutrient export is much more efficient than mine and may match or exceed their import. The tank I use bacto balance on has much higher N and P levels, NO3 20-30 ppm and PO4 0.3 - 0.6 but has been over 0.9 which is as high as my Hanna reads. I feed very heavy, skim dry and let my socks overflow. The corals in this tank respond well to those levels so I'm not concerned with lowering them but would like to maintain them close to current levels which is why I use bacto balance. It does seem to be working somewhat now that I've been using it longer but I've also reduced the amount of dry food I feed.
I think there are so many variables between our tanks so it's often impossible to get the same results between tanks using the same product. Some will react perfectly others not as well as expected and others too well. My experience with dosing anything has been a bit if a juggling act with some tweaking needed to get the desired results.
