AC or DC skimmers

I trying to figure out what skimmer would be better.. a DC driven skimmer or an AC driven skimmer.. what are your thoughts and experiences on them..

never had a DC skimmer but it would be safer seems starting to do a lot of DC stuff now a days maybe after a few more shocks I'll look into it lol

I'm looking at an to regal or an other or skimmer. is a DC skimmer worth it and dose it have an advantage over ac. Will it produces better skimmate.

Not sure about better skimmate as both pumps have the same goal in mind.

Dc pumps are designed to slowly start up to max (or preset) speed, rather than full speed immediately. Which I turn is easier on the pump and will last longer. They are also more energy efficient (cost effective) to run.
