Hello All,

I've got a bunch of acans, but recently noticed that one in my collection has pink/red feeding tentacles. I've only ever seen white ones. Is this a unique occurrence? Check it out. The little balls on the end of the tentacles are definitely not white. Note, these images were taken under blue LED's, but I adjusted them to look as true to life as possible.

Has anyone else seen anything like this?

Yeah, especially under highly actinic color the tips (and sometimes the whole tentacle) can sometimes have a pink or green color to them. I have a Scoly that has Orange feeder tentacles. Definitely awesome to watch. Nice looking acan btw. Cheers!

Thanks Spongie! That scoly must be impressive.
Yeah, this is one of my favorites. The whole thing is sort of a neon red, and not bold red like you see on every other acan, but red like those neon red crayons that were popular in the early nineties. Also, the inner ring that is usually just black has a slight royal blue tone to it.
