I have one and I love it. It works great for acclimating - something which you definitely don't need it for but it really does make it easy and convenient. It works great as a trap and I've also used it as a temporary 'holding'/introduction cage. I got it as a gift, not sure if I would've paid for it to start with ...... but now that I have one, if something should happen to it I would replace it! lol Just a handy little gadget to have around, at least for me!

Works beautifully as an acclimation device and a fish trap. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Do you guys trust those suction cups sticking to the side of your tank like that? That seems crazy?

They have never failed me yet, and have used it just that way a dozen times. This really is an excellent product.

I just added a 3rd dwarf angel to my 75 -- it spent 5 days in that box, to allow everyone to get used to each other. On the 5th day I lowered the box a couple of inches so that the new dwarf could swim out the top. Took about an hour for it to go out the top. There wasn't really any chasing, but once in a while it would go back into the box (( assuming to feel safe )), it is still spending the overnight in there (( have 3 pieces of PVC in there )), and actually goes back in there when I feed the tank -- put some food over it, so it can eat in peace.

I have the smaller one. I love it. I do get nervous about the suction cups holding 500 dollars worth of fosh when I was acclimating my clowns, but I just made sure to keep checking up on them. It is a really neat system and the amount of things you can do with it makes it worth the expense.

Those of you with a smaller one, do you wish you had the large one? or is it really not needed?

I don't think it is really needed unless you keep quite large specimens that you think will need it. I am fine with my small one.

I had mine fail multiple times. I gave up and just use the tank on a table with a longer intake line.

The customer service was great and sent me another outer box in case of defects in the suction cups. I just don't trust it after dumping several hundred dollars of corals across the floor.

Wow...not the responce I expected at all. I expected a few posts on a useless piece of equipment. Makes me wanna get one, or figure out how I can make my own. Acrylic and oxygen tubing is all it looks like

Doesn't mean it isn't complicated or worth it. Someone else wanted to make their own so I made a video showing all the parts of the Acclimate Pro and some pictures. http://s25.photobucket.com/albums/Dcksgomoo/ReefGently Acclimate Pro
But I feel it is worth the money and thought process put behind it. Just my .02

No harm no foul squishie.

As said in many threads, this saltwater tank is a hands on tank for my 3yr old and I. We get up every morning and its his job to get a chair and feed the fish the food that I give him, and he things its the coolest thing in the world that he gets to feed the fish. Anything that we can DO for the tank I am wanting to DO. Obviously we can't get our own rocks for the tank or else we would have been down at the creek picking out what we wanted..and as much as I like a DYI project I want rock in my tank, not rocks I made.

Really cool idea. Seems a bit overpriced and I would definitely want a backup device besides the suction cups. Maybe some adjustment cables on each side the hooked on the top to the tank would work. I think this would be a pretty easy device to make yourself. I work in the medical field and have access to IV drip devices.
I would buy at the right price, and a back up safty catch.....
