Okay so here’s the story:
First time reef keeper, 15 gallon nano tank, started in March of 2025.
In October my tank came down with brook and I lost all my finned friends. 2 clowns, a goby and a spring damsel were gone within 2 days. Per my LFS I tried treating the whole tank with polyplab medic and it was no help and it stressed my BTA into this condition. I’ve run carbon, I’ve fallowed the tank for 2 months, I slowly brought parameters back, and I’ve mostly skipped feeding for the fallow period and resumed feeding small bits of mysis once a week and I can’t seem to get this acid trip BTA to reinflate. It doesn’t move, it doesn’t avoid or chase light, it will sluggishly eat one mysis shrimp at a time, but it NEVER reinflates anywhere close to fully anymore. I tried ChatGPT and reading around but I can’t seem to find this exact scenario and AI hasn’t solved it yet. What can I do to revive this thing to its full glory? It was SO happy before I medicated and since then it has been very tight and small and retracted. Do I give up and get another nem or am I missing something?
Pics show a variety of states that it cycles through over the course of a few days. Some days I feel optimistic, other days I feel like it’s barely hanging on.
