How can I tell whether a 1" Acropora frag is going to table or branch out before permanently gluing them to my rock work.

This is my holding tank last time I counted I have 37 acro frags I need to figure out the best placement for my new tank.

You don't tell from frags other if you bought it as a tabling SPS.
I hope you have a 120 or larger for these babies to grow out :p

Negative, setting up a Reefer 250 that's why knowing their growth patterns is important for proper placement. If anything I'll have to frag every couple of months and spread the wealth with fellow reefers.

Looks like that some you can figure out if they are others will need to stay on the sand bed or frag rack till you figured it out.

That's a good idea, better yet I'll mount stag horns, candle lights and the dragons first. Then wait til the mili's decide whether to table out or not. ;)

Do you have tho have a 120 gallon putt bigger to grow acropora? I have a 55 gallon and was thinking of trying some.

IME all you need is good lighting, good flow, low nutrients and good stable water parameters, especially calcium, alkalinity and pH. Size is just an easier way to keep stable water parameters.

I'm going to try dosing for faster growth and color in next tank.

My calcium and mag are way to low, I'm just learning about dosing. As soon as i get it stablized I'm going to try an acro. What is a good piece to start out with? I have LED lighting

Green Slimer is a good one to start.

Once you get your parameters corrected, I'd try a setosa or a bird's nest if you kill any of those guys your not ready.
Got some awesome frags from harrysfrags.com. He sells birds nests for $15 and they're more like mini colonies than frags. Buy five and shipping is free.

Definitely not, but ~40 frags might be tad much for a 55g. Of course it depends on if you want to see lots of small unique colonies in your tank, or fewer, larger corals.

Nah, you can grow corals in a 1 gallon tank.

That is if you just keep them as frags you should be good.
