Whatever it is, it’s in trouble because it’s already RTN on the backside. I’d probably frag one or two pieces off that colony chunk and put in my back pocket, and I’d frag that RTN chunk off it.

They got it from a guy tearing his tank down ...........because its infested with white bugs or flatworms.....they just didnt tell you the last part. Acros are filthy these days. You gotta be super careful. Notice no polyp extension at all and RTN? I would just get it the F out of my tank and buy acros from a very few select aquaculture only providers.

As far as a “fancy name” it reminds me of some version of a berry blast acro

Thank you!
I did a search and came up with blueberry something or other, but I think your pic is closer.
Hopefully I can keep it alive. My parameters aren't anything to write home about, but I've somehow managed to keep a blue stylo and an orange setosa alive and growing to borderline enormous proportions.

You may very well be correct. I did do a coral dip and say a little prayer though.

Dips dont help with bugs unfortunately.....they kill the bugs, but not the eggs. Ditto to flatworms. You really cant do anything to prevent your tank getting F'd aside from buy corals that you know are clean to begin with. TSA, Pieces of the Ocean, TCK, WWC are the only places I would let an acro in my tank from. If you are just going to do a couple low end acros and stop there then its not that big of a deal. I have really high end acros in my tank so every time I add something it risks the whole thing. Much easier to say a prayer and hope for the best if you arent going to go heavy into high end stuff.
