Hello so upgraded to a 240 gallon acrylic tank that I bought off Craigslist. The guy I bought it from glued a strip of plastic across the top of the tank. I'm looking to get this off. I tried to chisel between the tank and the strip but it just came off in chips. Any help or experience would be appreciated.

No way to try and pry it off carefully? Get as much off as you can and sand smooth if it’s not in a visible area can always be buffed clear again afterwards.

That was the first try. A piece of tank chipped off with it which is why I'm scared to chisel again. You think I should heat it a little and try again?

If the tank is chipping I’d leave it alone and be happy

I think I'm going to have to. Just sucks cuz it's a shallow tank and will be seen more from above. Oh well thanks for the advice

When acrylic is welded properly, the acrylic will break before the actual seam does.
