Im wondering what everyone uses for actinics. I have some blue actinics and some purple actinics. Is there a "better" spectrum. Or is it jus preference. I think the corals pop more with blue.

As far as actinic bulbs you want to look at what nm range they are and get what is beneficial i run 420 and 460 nm and a blue led strip that is 450 nm

I run t5's and was told by an ATI rep that the Blue+ bulb is a far more useful bulb than a regular old actinic, even ATI's actinic. Something about the wavelength of the blue+ being much more usable to the coral than the actinic.

Well I have an oddysea fixture and the stock bulbs are called "actinics" but they are blue and I have some coralife actinics and they look purple but I think im gonna buy some ati blue plus. I like the blue but I know the oddysea bulbs are cheap.
