Add bacteria to water during water changes?

I have had freshwater aquariums for years and always added bacteria and stress coat (they cycle as I would expect). I have been doing the same with the my saltwater tanks. My main tank is cycling too well and having cyano and dino problems (getting my levels to get rid of it now). Was wondering if anyone else adds anything besides salt during water changes. Thinking I may be over doing it on the bacteria part. Btw, I have way less fish in my saltwater. Curious, what/if anything, what others as to water added during water changes.

The bacterial supplement won't encourage the growth of Dinos or Cyano, they actually compete with them for available surface area. Now, are they depleting your nutrients, maybe. Feed more.

A couple thoughts, I hope are some help here. I would not use the Stress Coat. If my memory of that product is correct, it is a dechlorinator that also has aloe and other additives that are supposed to help the fish's slime coating. My concern would be that the aloe and other things may be adding organics to the tank needlessly. I don't know of anyone who uses Stress Coat in a marine tank on a regular basis.

Because you're using Stress Coat, I am concerned that you're using tap water. Most of us do not use or recommend tap water, particularly if your goal is to keep corals. I'd look into an RODI water filter or use distilled water until you can get an RODI system.

I have never heard anyone here ever say that their new saltwater tank is cycling "too well" :-) What do you base that on? How did you start this tank (live rock, dry rock, sand?), how long has it been running, and how did you cycle the tank exactly?

When did you decide on adding fish? How many fish and what size tank is this?

What are your tank parameters at this point?

I have had the tank around a year. I have 2 clowns, 4 cardinals, cleaner goby and cleaning crew. Kept it pretty clean and maintained. Started using pellet and flakes for food. Think that may have started the ball rolling. All parameters read very low to the point that all read zero. Got cyano, got rid of it. Got dinos, still fighting it. Trying to get phosphates and nitrates to read normal by dosing as recommended by someone on here.

Added fish after 2 months, 75 gal, after 3 days I have gotten the phosphates and nitrates to read something besides zero. Using Hanna checker to measure parameters.
