Hey guys so I was wondering if I could get some input on my lighting situation. I'm kinda at a cross road. I have a 120 gallon reef sps, palys and lps. I currently have 2 ocean revive t24/7 but am having some color issues in my coral. I want to switch things up anyway. So I was thinking of going 6 bulb ati with 2 reef brites. But due to the cost I was wondering if it would be just as good to keep the ocean revives and add a 4 bulb t5 light. Wondering your guys thoughts on which way to go and if gone the second way any ideas on lighting schedule/intensity.

Thanks in advance.

I was in the same boat as you and I decided to add t5's to my OR lights.

My LEDs sit 12.5" off the water, run them at 70/50 blue/white over my 125g. The LEDs run for 10 hours total and the two t5s run for 4 hours. I have a coral plus in the front and a blue plus in the back.

So far colors are much better and I've seen better growth from certain acros over the past three months.

I would add the 4 bulb T 5 if you are sure it I I lighting that is causing the color issue. Mixed lighting of T5 and LED work great together. If you still don't think it is working for you you can always get the other two T5.

Lighting is only one aspect that plays the roll in coloring up corals. So before you go out get them what are your tank parameters? What settings are you running your LED at? How long do they run for?

I have the OR 26s so they don't ramp up and down.

Blues come on at noon, whites at 130 and T5s at 2. T5s turn off at 6, whites at 830 and blues at 10.

I bought these lights just to see how they worked at figured at 350 shipped if I didn't like them no real loss. I've had them running for about 8 months and have seen good results so I've stuck with them.

The t247 are an amazing light dont get me wrong but if they came out with a t5/led light it would be perfect for any tank
