I have four (4) Tunze 6055 pumps providing flow in my tank for years. I've replaced the pump motor on two (2) of the pumps with the only remaining maintenance being cleaning them. The only issue I have with these pumps is that to remove them from the tank to a service sink to clean them requires me to disconnect the power supply from the controller and remove the controller, cable and pump for service. This proves to be cumbersome in my setup. During one of the pump motor changes I noticed that there is a MOLEX connector that ties the cables to the board in the controller. My thought was that if it was permissible to cut the control cable and add Male/Female MOLEX connectors in the cable run, i could disconnect the cable at this location and remove only the pump for service/cleaning. Is this a viable solution or would it affect how the pump performs?
