Adding extra sump for chaeto/pods

Got extra space in sump so I have been thinking about adding a Brute 20g or 30G to put chaeto and pods inthere to create a good population of pods. Pump water from main sump then overflow back to main sump. Will this do any good or should I just make a chaeto reactor?

I would thing if you do something like that you would want something not real deep for light penetration .big but not deep
