Hey guys, got a quick question my tank has been running for several months now, but wanting to put sand in the refugium. Im currently running bare bottom with some live rock and cheato. I now want to put sand in, but not sure how it can be done without it going all over the tank? What you guys think? Also use new sand or used?

I would suggest definitely using new sand. You could turn off your pumps and use a piece of pvc or other tube type thing (lack of better word :)) and pour the sand down through the tube, it should minimize the spread of the sand - put in slowly.

Skip the sand, go with tile. It will have more surface area for biological and easier to clean.

Thanks for the quick replys guys, imma do sand. now how deep should i go? also any certain sand i should get?

Im gonna have to agree with ladies statement. A few months ago the pvc. Pipe idea was brought to my attention i used it to fill in some areas couldnt be more happier
